How Did Ft Worth swingers Get Started?

What exactly are Ft Worth swingers and how did the lifestyle get started? The dictionary defines swinging as one that swings; a person who is lively, exciting and up to date; one who engages freely in sex. We like all of these definitions, but for our purposes we’ll use the last one.

Swinging got its start in the 50’s in the suburbs and the only way for swingers to meet was through personals ads in the papers. During the 1960’s swingers clubs starting springing up and the North American Swing Club Association was formed to try and organize information about the lifestyle. Once the 70’s hit ‘wife swapping’ and ‘key parties’ became all the rage and swinging became more mainstream than it had ever been. The 1980’s were rocking along until AIDS caused many of the clubs to close or cancel their memberships.
